I've been trying my hand at speedpainting for a while, and this is the first piece that I felt worthy of showing off.
Done in Photoshop CS2 with a Graphire 2 tablet in about two and a half hours. Entirely fueled by Opeth and Agalloch. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. The colors are nicely chosen, and they blend so well.
I like the trees on the left, and the banks go well with the perspective.
Speed painting sounds disastrous for me, but good for you getting a very cool result out of it!

This sounds like a great way to build a common knowledge of characteristics of objects, like the branches on a tree, so that drawing them becomes more automatic rather than trial-and-error.
